ABOUT JOE PAPA
Owner, Head Pilot and Engineer, Joe Papa, is an internationally recognized aerial drone professional. His visionary work spans multiple arenas including advertising, documentary film, music, and sports, among others. With notable clients such as Jerry Seinfeld, Mashable, BMW, Lexus and Coneflower Studios, his work has appeared on Netflix, PBS Nature, Crackle and VH1.
Along with being a seasoned drone pilot, Joe has engineered heavy lift drones and gimbals for cinema and also has over 20 years of professional photography experience. While working with AerialCine, Joe enabled the Black Armor Drone by Intuitive Aerial to operate carrying twin Red Epic cameras for 3D capture. In association with 21st Century 3D owner Jason Goodman, Joe is credited with performing the inaugural aerial flight of the ARRI ALEXA XT at ARRI Rental headquarters.
Joe has amassed a dedicated global following of over 50,000 listeners with his renowned Multirotor Podcast, is a staff writer for Drones Magazine, and executive editor of DroneLife.io where he researches, tests, and authors unbiased technical product reviews. His newest venture, the recently launched DroneLife Podcast, is a go-to resource where Joe shares his expertise regarding the technical craft of drone pilot operation as well as the artistic considerations necessary to successfully produce professional grade aerial photography and cinematography.
